Are you kidding me? Constellation - With all those womanly curves

Most beautiful WWII fighter: Spitfire - pointy elliptical wings

Beautiful fighter jet: Skyhawk - rounded delta wings with matching stabilizers - especially in the Blue Angels blue and gold

Jet airliner: stretch DC-8 - long and lean

Current production: 787-9 Dreamliner - you have to see the Paris Airshow practice video from Moses Lake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-w5LW2Mvlc

Plus whatever plane I happen to be flying or building at the moment!

Jonathan, Everett, Washington

OMG: they agreed with me!

Concorde has to be in the top ten.

I'd also add the VC10. And the Comet.

I'd love to include a Soviet type but hard to find one that is "beautiful"; I'd say the Tu144 or the IL62 but they are basically copies of the above!

For military yes the Spitfire and the Gloster Meteor.

I was also always a fan of the F104 Starfighter.

And finally the Shorts Sunderland flying boat.

Nowadays it is hard to find much visually different between most of the civil aircraft coming out.

We seem to be a quiet bunch on the forum. Here are my, in no particular order, ten most beautiful airliners of all time, or at least today.

DC8 extended long and sleek, looks the part of the Jet age. The Bees knees of planes.

Convair 990 a plane of raw power always a thrill to see one.

De Havilland DH 104 Comet 4c, so streamlined.

Sud SE 210 Caravelle, very continental.

Bristol Britannia 715 just an exciting plane.

Vickers Vanguard 953 looks like a four engine prop should look like.

Boeing 717-200, an elegant two engine jet.

Airbus A 34O a good looking modern jet

Airbus A321 a classic looking design.

ATR-72-600 a sleek modern prop.

I'm not sure I would describe any of those aircraft us good looking, but thats just me.

You can't beat the lines of the DC-10. The A330 looks rather nice too.

Sorry Nighthawk, I think the DC10 is ugly! I always found the engine in the tail fin just looks wrong. L1011 was better.

Polehill, by 717 do you mean the rebranded DC9/MD80? I'm in two minds about them. The nose looks all wrong to me. The stretched DC9-80, MD80 looked too stick thin, but the -15 and -30 series were ok.

Yes, by B717 I do mean the rebranded MD95 series, I also like the look of the CJR 900.
